The Formula We Use
Why the hybrid Cysteamine and TGA formula is the right choice
TGA Alone
Fast and strong but operates at a high pH. Cannot be safely applied to lash tips. Can stress the lash cuticle if timing is off. Hard on sensitive skin. Strong chemical odor.
Pure Cysteamine Alone
Gentler but processes slowly, 8 to 20 minutes depending on lash type. For coarser lashes, the longer skin contact time actually increases irritation risk. Inconsistent on resistant lash types.

What to expect at your Korean lash lift

Consultation
Your artist assesses your natural lash length, growth direction, and eye shape to select the right shield style and size. This step determines the shape of your curl and is part of what a trained eye catches that a rushed appointment skips.

Cleanse
A thorough cleanse removes all oils, residue, and makeup from your lashes to ensure the lifting formula bonds evenly and effectively.

Shield Placement and Formula Application
The shield is placed, then the hybrid Cysteamine and TGA formula is applied root to tip. Processing takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on your lash type.

Neutralizer and Conditioning Serum
A neutralizer locks the curl in place. A conditioning serum nourishes and strengthens the lash fiber, leaving your lashes looking healthy rather than processed.

Optional Lash Tint
Most clients add a lash tint. It deepens the color of your natural lashes so you wake up with lift and definition without mascara. Adds approximately 15 minutes to your appointment.
Aftercare and Results
Your full appointment runs 60 to 75 minutes. Keep your lashes dry for 24 hours to allow the conditioning serum to fully nourish your freshly lifted and tinted lashes, and avoid oil-based products near your eyes. Results last 8 to 10 weeks depending on your natural growth cycle. The curl fades gradually with no sudden drop-off. Most clients return every 8 weeks for a relift and optionally every 4 weeks for a tint refresh.

How is this different from what other Boston salons offer?
The biggest difference is the formula and the application method. Most salons using the term Korean lash lift are working with either a standard TGA formula or a pure cysteamine formula, applied root to midpoint. The hybrid Cysteamine and TGA formula we use, applied root to tip, delivers better results, works consistently across all lash types, and is gentler on the skin than either formula alone.
Will it damage my natural lashes?
Not when performed correctly. The hybrid formula is designed to nourish and protect lash integrity while reshaping the curl. Root-to-tip application means we are working with the full lash in a controlled and precise way. Technique and timing matter more than anything else, and our Boston artists train specifically in this service.
Is it safe for sensitive eyes?
Yes. Our hybrid formula is gentler on skin and lashes than traditional TGA or cysteamine alone. If you have sensitive eyes or have experienced reactions to lash services in the past, we recommend booking a complimentary patch test and consultation at least 48 hours before your appointment. Your safety is always our number one priority.
Can I book if I currently have lash extensions?
Yes and no. You will need to have your extensions removed first. If you are one of our current lash extension clients, we take care of your natural lashes throughout the time you wear extensions with us, so most regular clients are able to book a Korean lash lift and tint on the same day as their removal. If your extensions were done at another spa, our lash experts will assess your natural lash health after removal and advise whether it is safe to proceed the same day or whether a short recovery period is needed first.
