What Sets It Apart

Not just a traditional lash lift
with a new name

A Korean lash lift uses customized shield sizing, precise timing, and a modern hybrid lifting formula to reshape your natural lashes from root to tip. It can be performed with or without lash balm. That is simply a technique choice and does not affect the outcome either way. What defines the Korean method is the precision of the application, the quality of the formula, and the customization to your individual eye shape and lash growth pattern. The result is a softer, more tailored curl, not a uniform wave, but a lift that looks like yours, just better.

The Formula We Use

TGA Alone
Fast and strong but aggressive. Cannot safely be applied to lash tips. Can be hard on the natural lashes and sensitive skin. Strong chemical odor.
Pure Cysteamine Alone
Gentler but slow, processing 8 to 20 minutes. For thicker lashes, longer contact time actually increases skin irritation risk.
Our Hybrid Formula ✦
Cysteamine and TGA combined. Processes in 5 to 10 minutes. Applied root to tip including lash tips. Gentler on natural lashes than TGA alone. Stronger results than cysteamine alone.

Korean Lash Lift FAQ

What is a Korean lash lift?
A Korean lash lift is an advanced lash lifting technique developed in South Korea that uses a modern hybrid lifting formula to reshape your natural lashes from root to tip. The technique can be performed with or without lash balm, this is simply a method preference and does not change the quality of the result. What sets it apart from a traditional lift is the precision of the shield selection, the quality of the formula, and the full root-to-tip application that gives your artist complete control over the curl shape and direction.
How is a Korean lash lift different from a traditional lash lift?
A traditional lash lift applies the lifting formula from root to midpoint only, which limits the shape and style of the curl and excludes many lash types from getting a great result. A Korean lash lift applies the formula root to tip, giving your artist full control over the shape, direction, and style of the curl.
What formula does Lash L'Amour use for Korean lash lifts?
We use a hybrid Cysteamine and TGA formula, the most advanced formulation currently available for this service. TGA alone is fast but aggressive and cannot be applied safely to lash tips. Pure cysteamine is gentler but processes slowly and inconsistently on coarser lashes. Our hybrid combines the efficiency of TGA with the gentleness of cysteamine, allowing root-to-tip application, 5 to 10 minute processing, and consistent results across all lash types.
How long does a Korean lash lift last?
Results typically last 6 to 8 weeks depending on your natural lash growth cycle and aftercare habits. The curl fades gradually as your lashes grow out, no sudden drop-off, just a soft return to natural. Most clients come back every 6 to 8 weeks for a relift, and every 4 weeks optionally for a tint refresh.
Will it damage my natural lashes?
Not when performed correctly. Our hybrid formula is designed to nourish and protect lash integrity while reshaping the curl. Our artists at both Boston and Newton train specifically in this service, and technique and timing are monitored carefully on every appointment.
Is it safe for sensitive eyes?
Yes. Our hybrid formula is gentler on skin and lashes than traditional TGA or cysteamine alone. If you have sensitive eyes or have experienced reactions to lash services in the past, we recommend booking a complimentary patch test and consultation at least 48 hours before your appointment. Your safety is always our number one priority.
Can I book if I currently have lash extensions?
Yes and no. You will need to have your extensions removed first, but what happens next depends on how and where your extensions were done. If you are one of our current lash extension clients, we nurture your natural lashes throughout the time you wear extensions with us, so most of our regular clients are able to book a Korean lash lift and tint on the same day as their removal. If your extensions were done at another spa, our lash experts will assess the health of your natural lashes after removal to determine whether it is safe to proceed the same day or whether a few weeks of recovery is needed first.
What is the aftercare?
Keep your lashes dry for 24 hours to allow the conditioning serum to fully nourish your freshly lifted and tinted lashes, and avoid oil-based products near your eyes. That is genuinely all there is to it. Most clients find the aftercare simple, and the results are lifted, defined lashes without mascara. Well worth it!
Can I add a lash tint to my Korean lash lift?
Yes, and we recommend it. A lash tint deepens the color of your natural lashes so you wake up with lift and definition without mascara. It adds approximately 15 minutes to your appointment. Most clients include a tint and find they stop thinking about mascara entirely.
Do you offer Korean lash lifts in Newton as well as Boston?
Yes. We offer Korean lash lifts at both our Newbury Street location in Back Bay, Boston, and our Newton Centre location on Langley Road. If you are in Newton, Wellesley, Needham, Waltham, Watertown, or Chestnut Hill, Newton Centre is almost always the more convenient choice.
